Laparoscopy(Peritoneoscopy)


  • No abnormalities of the ovaries, follopian tubes, uterus, liver, or peritoneal cavity are noted.

  • To investigate the cause of abdominal or pelvic pain
  • To detect Endometriosis or an ectopic pregnancy
  • To identify a pelvic or abdominal mass
  • To investigate suspected liver disease or the cause of Ascites
  • To determine if cancer is present or has metastasized


  • Failure to maintain a nothing-by-mouth status
  • Obesity
  • Adhesions
  • Advanced abdominal wall malignancy
  • Hernia
  • Severe cardiorespiratory disease
  • Intestinal Obstruction
  • Uncooperative patient
