    1. Adult male: 4-18 U/24 hours
    2. Adult female:

      • Follicular phase: 3-12 U/24 hours
      • Midcycle peak: 8-60 U/24 hours

    3. Child 1-8 years:

      • Male: 0.5-4.5 U/ 24 hours
      • Female: 0.5-4 U/24 hours

  • To diagnose gonadal dysfunction or failure
  • To evaluate infertility in the female and testicular dysfunction in the male
  • The urine test is used for children with precocious puberty and to identify the time of ovulation when in vitro fertilization is planned
