Colchicine (Colchicine)



Relief of pain in attacks of acute gouty arthritis. Prophylactically between attacks.




1 to 1.2mg to relieve or abort an attack, then 0.5mg or 0.6mg every hour, or 1mg or 1.2mg every 2 hours, until pain is relieved or diarrhea ensues. Prophylaxis: Ranges from 0.5mg or 0.6mg/day 3 or 4 days/week up to 1.8mg/day before or after meal.




As directed by physician.




Vomiting, diarrhea, nausea, hypersensitivity.
